Exhibits, from the Inside Out: Managing Exhibition Materials with EMu’s Exhibition Objects Module

Planning, organizing, and implementing museum exhibitions often requires the cooperation of diverse staff from curators and registrars to conservators and designers. In order to efficiently and effectively communicate, it is beneficial to have a centralized information management system that presents the most up-to-date data to every team member. The Oriental Institute has customized EMu’s Exhibition Objects module to act as an exhibition implementation tool. This talk will provide an overview of the methodology, benefits, and implementation strategy for using the Exhibition Objects module within the broader context of the Oriental Institute’s Integrated Database Project.
